OH! while we are on the subject... *MOMS* the critical, self-depricating voice in your head often slips out without your awareness. Watch your speech for it WILL become your daughters speech; she will use the same measures to judge herself/her own body. I will never, ever forget the tiny 4-5 year old girl in a homeless child camp/class I watched over a few years ago. She only ate an apple for lunch and nearly sobbed when we offered her a pizza, refusing it for the calories. Afterwards, she spent the entire indoor game time (recess) running in large circles, because she was too fat and needed to burn off the apple. Please dont pay the insecurities or hang-ups forward.
