OK - heres the deal... 1 NOV is All Saints Day. 2 OV is All Souls Day. Both days remember dead people. Thats the common link. Since many denominations believe that any one who has gone before is a saint, they can celebrate All Souls on All Saints with the same net effect. Oh, by the way, these two days are part of the Hallowmas celebrations, just in case you were thinking of sending us a gift (awwwww, isnt that sweet.....) Also, All Saints Day USED to be on 13 May, but that was the same day a previous pagan celebration - the Feast of the Lemures - so Pope Gregory, rather than recycle the feast (as Easter is a date recycle of the Dionysian festival; Christmas the Saturnalia, etc.) he moved it to 1 November, causing the confusion you are witnessing right now. Sheesh.....
