OK--call me crazy--Sunday Nicole and I where heading up to Greenwood, and where about to get on 50 highway when we saw this large black dog on the highway. Of course I had to save it, however as we got closer it was not a dog but a baby calf! So here we are trying to get it off the highway onto W. Must have been 1 month old by my guess. We get it onto the grassy parts of W and tried our best to corner it and get a lead rope around his neck, finally succeed after 20 minutes. Of course Nicole is already naming him! After 30 minutes of trying to figure out what to do next, she wants to put him in the car, a farmer comes by , pulls over and ask if we needed help with our calf. I said he is not our calf, just trying to get him off the highway and keep him safe. So he makes some calls and a friend brings a trailer for him. Found out today that he actually fell out of a cattle trailer heading to Kingsville Auction. :) Nicole still wishes we had kept him, gotta admit, he was pretty cute!
