OK. As of this writing I have 316 friends here on Facebook. PREDICTION: After yall read what Im in the process of posting Ill probably have about 250 friends remaining. Meaning: I know what Im about to share will likely offend some of you to the point where youll unfriend me. Thats OK. I know gay marriage is a touchy subject that brings out strong feelings for and against it. I honestly do not want to offend any of you. If you are on my friends list (as you obviouly are) then I value you -- no matter how we may disagree with each other. So what I fear rejection about is my news that, as of this past weekend, Im engaged to be married. His name is Logan and hes one fantastic guy! Hes a Kentucky native, but Ill overlook that! :-) I love his smile and laughter, his courage (more about that in a moment) and his passion for life. We first met one year ago tomorrow (Thursday) and, as he said before just we met, he was feeling that what we were going to have something special and he was right! About courage: Several years ago Logan was injured in a very serious auto accident and sustained life-threatening injuries -- including a broken neck! It took many months for him to recover, including spending around two months in Frazier Rehab here in Louisville. He had lots of setbacks and has a scar in the middle of his chest where he was almost impaled by wooden fence post! Yet he survived and has overcome those injuries. Before you judge me, please remember that I was in and out of the ex-gay movement for around 12 years. As far as I know, nearly all of the ministries I was involved with have gone out of business. That tells me a lot about how effective pray the gay away is, especially since Exodus International has apologized and even its co-founders are now a married couple and that international ministry organization has also ceased to exist. So unfriend me if you must. But rest assured that my gay marriage is not a threat to your marriage.
