OK DTLA, its time to put your money where your mouth is! Do you wan a neighborhood full of chain stores and restaurants or do you want to have a walkable neighborhood full of unique art, clothes and gifts?!?! We here a lot of complaining about gentrification and the theres some truth to it. DTLA is going to get busier. More people are going to move here. They are going to demand shopping and places to eat. We can shape this by supporting those who would bring something different to the table. If we just stand by and let whatever happen it WILL be a crappy mall. These building owners dont care who pays the rent. So go vote with your dollar. If youre broke, invite some friends down and just tool around and visit. A busy day in the shop even if theres little $ is better than a long day alone. These people need to know that we care, that we support what they are doing and that we appreciate them investing their personal money in our neighborhood. These are not corporations. Many are just trying to live their dream of owning a business and doing something cool. Many were inspired by living down here. Get out there! Walk around. Have fun!!! . . . . and PLEASE PASS THIS ON!!!
