OK Facebook friends, I havent posted anything in ages, so heres an update. Ive declared 2014 the year of the lost summer. On July 2, Bev had a total hip replacement. Shes recovering wonderfully, and if my cooking doesnt kill her, should be fully healed by Labor Day! I had a couple of molars removed a few weeks ago and will have more oral surgery in a couple of months to get implants after the bone grafts are fused. In the meantime, Im having cataract surgery on the 11th, so hopefully I can follow a golf ball if Im ever lucky enough to hit one. All of this should wrap up by the end of September, which is good because we scored round trip tickets to St. Louis in mid-October for the ridiculous rate of $40 per person. A cheap trip to visit Bevs mom. A rental car for the week will cost much, much more. When we get back, we hope to squeeze in a golf vacation in Myrtle Beach before it gets too cold. Then well go into Christmas mode. Sorry for the long post. Just thankful for good medical and dental insurance! Many of our contemporaries are not so fortunate.
