OK Folks..... we have had to do some rescheduling of our spring events. BanjoBeQue, an event we participate in every year in Evans Georgia, scheduled for May 23rd and 24th. We dont want to miss that as it is a good fundraiser and public outreach. So... we are rescheduling our first Sumter NF camp out for May 28 - June 21. This means we will have plenty of funds from BanjoBeQue to have a nice trip the following week end. The Camp site is secret.... not public information. We have had problems in the past with USFS Law Enforcement sneaking up on us in the woods. We dont like that. It is unnecessary and dangerous. So the location of our our camp will only be given to our campers. It is unfortunate that our paid public servants see fit to make unnecessary and dangerous situations out of law abiding citizens camping on their own public lands, but they do. Most people with common sense understand that sneaking up on people in the woods is dangerous, but there seems to be some culture of adrenaline high that exist in USFS Law Enforcement that overrides common sense.
