OK Gang, Marlies Kells Mañeru, this is what greets you the moment you enter the front door .. my Christmas decor .. I was irritated at the prices in SM .. each little branch was over P100 so Jun and I went to the public market .. found them for P45.95 each .. then I looked for my 19th century great grandmas damajuana and dumped the fillers (as they are called) in there .. instant Xmas decor! A damajuana (literally Lady Jane) is a large container made of glass with a rounded belly and a small mouth, usually enclosed in a straw container used to carry water or wine in Spain .. they are no longer made and are impossible to find here unless you happen to poke around in antique stores or go to the provinces. This one belonged to my mothers grandmother (the Roco side of the family ) Carlos Roco. P.S. Philip Flores, the Tang horse got kicked off center stage for the season! BTW, the tea lights are P500 at SM but can be found in Home Depot for P200 :-) .. just thought you might wanna know that - same banana!
