OK HERE I GO... IMO Anyone of you, except for the coach and players, who is truly losing it still, after 24 hrs?? should re-evaluate your life. THIS IS A GAME. JUST a GAME. Only one Game. And God knows, however badly we lost, we will win in the future....MEANWHILE who among you gives a DAMN??? about REAL TRUE Culture in society???? The SC Philharmonic for one... and many more!!! ... Carolina Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, (HEAR THIS: these people are FAR more dedicated than the average football player, good LORD!!) also Columbia Classical Ballet, USC Opera, USC Symphony, Lake Murray Symphony, the list of DESERVING COMMUNITY LEADERS is astounding and goes on.... ESPECIALLY when we all go so crazy for virtually NOTHING... Heres the truth...Even when we win? it is not us. NO. It is a collection of talented athletes who are 18-21 years old. Not our real town reps either, some and many are at Carolina for their scholarships, etc...which is ok, sure... except we lose ALL SENSE OF PERSPECTIVE...like...every single time. Do you realize how long it takes for every artist you know to perfect THEIR CRAFT???? No it doesnt happen by 18 or 21 in general.... Never mind the odds...I look for the day which I know will probably never be...that every person REALIZES how much the ARTS mean to them, to their families, to their ENTIRE WELL-BEING. I look forward to the day when a dancer, or a singer, or a great musician...is awarded a mega million dollar contract, and everyone is so excited about them!! Yep, I know you are saying no way.... But you know what? THAT will be the day we actually get honest about what contributes to our lives, our families, and our entire community. Meanwhile you have incredible talent RIGHT HERE in Columbia that many people simply ignore....even though the same folks will make every single game in town.... LETS have a war on IGNORANCE. Rant over.
