OK. Here is the final report on the new 3rd. party cable modem I just bought to replace the Brighthouse cable modem that they are charging $4/month for starting next week. I got it from Amazon in 3 days. I hooked it up and called BH to register it so that it would work. After they registered it, my son and I both went on to the internet to test it. We both agreed that it is noticeably faster when generating new web pages. With the old Brighthouse modem, you could watch it slowly change from page to page. With this one (a Ubee brand) the pages came up as quickly as you clicked on any button on the screen. I am saving $4 a month on my Brighthouse bill and so should you. I bought mine on Amazon and here is the link for you if you wish to order one. Mine was used at $12.95.
