OK. I am sitting here with Frankie Beverly and Maze blasting really loud in the house. Jack Daniels (my dog, yall) and I are getting our party on. I feel like eulogizing good music because I feel as though she has died an untimely death. I can start by saying that there are not many artist out there that can sing LIVE. (Today, technology has simulated talent.) Actually, the song They Dont Dance No More needs to be remixed to They Dont Sang No More (yes, I said SANG, not sing.) Today we have PERFORMERS who entertain....so, we are really witnessing comedy because it is so sad that it is funny. Entertainment does not denote singing or true musicianship is transpiring before us. Please indulge me in this rant. I appreciate those true artist I know of out there such as the Dei Va, John YungVokalz Bell and many others that I will not list for fear of missing someone. Well, I am going back to my concert. For those young folks out there who dont know about music beyond the Popular Music (Pop, Hip Hop and Rap).....go and google some of the artists from the 20th Century. I am thankful that I grew up during a time where I could sing the songs on the radio without getting the look for using explicit lyrics. Most of the inappropriate subject matter was in code back in the 70s and 80s....now our poor young people are over exposed like film in the sunlight. As promised, I am gone.....back to my concert.
