OK I cant find day 2 of ringing bells and the experiences I had, so I am going to try to remember lol The main thing I remember was something that never happened in the several years that I rang bells: There was this older truck with 2 or three younger guys in it who drove past me and literally THREW a whole bunch of coins on the ground. I was so shocked that I didnt know to pick them up or not. A nice lady helped me. Remember the guy who bought me a donut the day before? It turns out he is one of the cart people and it was his day off. I was glad I got to ring there again because it made it easier to really thank him right. Yep by lunch time I was over full again.. And lots of 20s. I dont keep track, I dont think I ever had people put so many in.....if ever once. What a shame....NOT!! Yes I am very proud of my red nose helping the Salvation Army. It amazes me how many disabled people struggle to get to the grocery store. One lady got off the Paratransit bus slowly pushing her walker, and stopped at the Christmas trees and took her nose right on them with a great big whif! As she approached me, she said to me, I just love the smell of fresh Christmas trees. Ive never been able to have one because I had big dogs. Now I live in a small apartment and only one small dog. I dont really want a tree, but Id love to have some greens just for the smell, but I dont have a car and I cant get around much. Well, lets just say....I am going to make that happen. I got her address and I think Im going to try to get a tiny good smelling plant tree for her. She thinks all she is getting is greens. LOL Ok almost done.....The very end of the night this man passed me like 4 times going to and from his car. I greeted him hello each time and wishe him a happy thanksgiving as he went to is car each time. He never grunted, replied, or even looked at me......TYPICAL. Then he comes to me all the way from his car with his fist clinched and then he says, I have a whole bunch of change in my ashtray and I want to give it to you. Wow thank you and he goes to leave and here he comes again....OOOOPS I just dropped my wifes nice necklace in the pot. Oh I dont have access to the kettle, and if you wait my boss MIGHT but I can get your phone number or you can wait....its cold like 6:15 and yesterday my kettle got picked up at 6:30. He looked lost and stunned that I didnt have a key. I tried to call my boss and POOF there he was. Im sure it didnt look good that I was on my cell phone ....bad no no. lol Well the boss got his info and away he went. Then.....just as the boss is about to drive away, comes another lady wanting to donate so we flagged him and she put in her donation......Yep Im proud of my bell ringing. Today is day 3 for me and its at Walmart and black Friday........lets hope for nice people. Have a nice day and thanks for reading. I dont intend on writing a book each day, but hey maybe I should.
