OK, I cant find my original post, so I am going to just make a new post about Buddys visit to the new vet. Its great news!!!! First, thank you all for prayers and friendship through this very emotional time for me. OK its a bit length, but here goes: I come today to FB with wonderful news about my Buddy!!!!! I went to Bradford Park Veterinary Clinic this morning. The sore under his chin is from abcessed tooth. Thankfully, hes been on antibiotics long enough that she feels really good about pulling those teeth, even tho theres still infection, obviously. The antibiotics are at work in his body already, so she has no problem with pulling those canine teeth. She showed me how they curve down into the gums with fake sets of teeth. Then I realized why the jaw got broken. You cant twist and turn the tooth like the vet did and get them out without breaking the jaw, which as you all know happened. She said it requires patience and showed me. She said even if the jaw bone hadnt healed since March, which I am sure it has, she would still be able to remove the tooth and not the jaw as the specialist in KC wanted to do. So all the teeth are coming out to prevent any other infections today, which she even agreed with me that the vet that botched the graft surgery, should have done like I went in and asked him to do, because the roots are showing big time. She will get out the broken off root that was left in by the vet I used for years. Second, she has done dentistry in dogs and cats for 15 years. She is working to get her specialist license. She has done numerous grafting surgeries, and just yesterday on a cat. She said you just make an incision to separate the tissue of the roof of mouth and pull tissue from the inside of incision (not use the top layer) and spread the tissue over the hole in the side of his gums and stitch it. I said, will it be traumatic like hes already went through? She said, oh no, nothing compared to what he went through. She said hes going to be fine. I expected an old decrepid dog to walk in. Shes said hes so healthy and lab work is excellent, there is no reason for him to be euthanized either. She said she will do it patiently and slowly and from 1:30 on, he will be her patient and will work on him all afternoon. She said I doubt that I will charge you for most of this, because this is all good for my training and licensing. She took a picture of his gum with hole and canine tooth to show her mentor, and they would go through it all together. SO basically, there will be 2 peoples expertise working on Buddy. Then The Killumanti organization is going to pay for half of my bill. God has so answered all of our prayers, and I cant thank you all enough for the positive energy and prayers that came Buddys and my way. I gave the veterinarian a hug. I said I dont know if you like hugs, but I have to give you one, cause I was even crying over at Parkcrest in their office when they said I would prob have to euthanize him, cause when the mouth goes bad, its like an organ going bad. Im so thankful that these people got me in early this morning, so we didnt have to wait till late Thursday to take him to Parkcrest, because the outcome could have been detrimental, from horrible skin sore from abcess moving from inside to outside skin or possibly euthanization. My daughter and I are so happy to know that Buddy is not leaving our lives. THANK YOU GOD, JESUS, ANGELS AND ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISSI AND ALL THAT PRAYED FOR US ONCE AGAIN!!!!
