OK, I have to confess, there may have been a time when Sunday programs at MarsCon were mostly the leftovers. But thats not the case anymore. So save a little energy for Sunday, because some of our best events are happening that day. If you need help getting started, Jonah Knight is there for you. Hell start with a program about Bulletproof Coffee, a healthier blend, up in the Con Suite at 9am. At 10, you can join him in Longstreets for another round of Wake Up Yoga. If you need the extra rest, the remainder of our programming doesnt begin until 11. That gives you time to sleep in a bit and get hotel checkouts taken care of so that you can focus on programs. Youve got some touch choices: all of our GOHs are in action in the 11 am hour. In the Restaurant Annex, the Waltrip brothers, along with Monica Marier, bring back Sketch-a-Thon, where you shout out ideas and they put their pens to quick work. We celebrate our historical location with Redcoats and Browncoats, Tricorns and Unicorns, a panel about combining colonial history in fantasy and alternate history story lines. Thats in Jefferson Davis 2 and features two Guests of Honor. At the other end of the building in General Earlys, Ill host two guests of honor and six others in Imagining a Better World, a worldbuilding contest. In two teams, theyll build original fantasy and science fiction worlds write in front of your eyes. There are other great choices this hour. Harry Potter fans can see how much they remember in Stuarts Redoubt, as the Blibbering Humdingers host Harry Potter Trivia. A panel of distinguished Con veterans will look at Fandom Then and Now, exploring what has changed in 25 years and more of Cons in General Hookers. If youd like to turn over a new leaf, Jonah Knight will be in Longstreets talking about How Not to Diet. In Jefferson Davis 1, explore Star Maps and Alternate Universes, a look at online tools you can use to create new worlds and scenarios for gaming, fiction, and more. Noon is just as packed. Get into William Shakespeares Star Wars in the Restaurant Annex, where Ill be hosting a two-hour participatory read-aloud of this funny, effective combination of Shakespearian language and the story you love so well. We have several copies, but bring your own if you have one. In General Earlys, its one last chance to see David Weber, as hes interviewed by Mikey Mason and Jonah Knight for their podcast, All in the Reflexes. Musicians can discuss their art and business in a roundtable in Stuarts Redoubt. If youve got kids who are already into SF and fantasy, or know kids youd like to get hooked, catch Best Books for Kids in Jefferson Davis 2. Space enthusiasts should catch Brad Goodmans talk, Space Transportation in Davis 1. Allen Wolds second event for writers, his two-hour Plotting Workshop is up in Abraham Lincoln. Finally, youve got one last chance to take home some art at the Art Auction in Longstreets. At 1 pm, YA GOH Alethea Kontis leads a panel on 25 Great YA Characters in Jeff Davis 2. Our costuming guests explore 25 Years of Costuming in Davis 1. Engineers and science fiction writers join forces to explore how Money Makes the Worlds Go Around: Technology and Economics in Stuarts Redoubt, while Charlie Stayton and Darcy Wold will tell A Riveting Story: Real Life Science, Styles, and People that Inspire Steampunk in Longstreets Also beginning at 1 pm, well begin to filter into General Earlys for one last programming hurrah. If you didnt catch the Sunday Round Robin Concerts last year, you missed something great, and this year promises to be every bit as good. In two hours, Danny Birt, Griffs Room Band, Valentine Wolfe, The Blibbering Humdingers, Jonah Knight, and Mikey Mason will all take the stage, alternating and sometimes sharing songs. Finally, at 3 pm, well finish with our Closing Ceremonies, where we recap what we did, look forward to where were going, say thanks to everyone who contributed, and get one more warm fuzzy dose of MarsCon goodness. The preview is over and its time to get the show started! The sun is up in Williamsburg and the ice is melting off. Drive safe and well see you all soon. Let the 25th anniversary of MarsCon commence!
