OK, I shared the bad news. Here is the good news. Starting September 1st Im beginning a brand new membership-based marketing club. Im partnering with GoLocal, Meylah, Microsoft and some local and national media and advertising outlets. Im looking for 10 Tacoma/Pierce County businesses who already know and trust me to be our test cases during the first 3 months and to be used later as example cases when we show the results at classes, seminars and meetings with new businesses we are bringing in. These first 10 businesses will be given a discounted membership for the first 6 months (and possibly for the first year depending on the results). Retail businesses and restaurants will probably be the best fit for this initial push. Eventually there will be several price points to come in at and plans catered more to service oriented businesses. For these initial 10 businesses, I need $250 per month from each and a commitment of 3 months. These businesses will be given personalized consultation and training, free advertising in several mediums and a consultant to come out and set up their online shopping store which could include product photography and/or graphic design services. These businesses would be the urban pioneers of the new digital age that we are working on bringing forth to small businesses in the whole state of Washington. We will also be rebranding Spectacular Tacoma to be named Shop253 which was the Mayors idea and a very smart one because it tells the story of what it is much better without requiring a tag line. Im going to switch everything over once I have a new logo.
