OK Im POd! I decided to weigh my roast beef from Krogers, it says on the package 3.11lbs. I have a very nice scale.. Anyways, after zeroing out the plate I was to put it on, my meat alone weighed, 2.156. The packaging, which they were nice enough to include 2 Styrofoam plates, absorbent pad and plastic wrap .954, that is nearly a pound. I paid $2.99 a pound for the packaging alone, which is $2.85. Now if someone is paying a lot more a pound, $4.99, $5.99, etc.. they would be paying all that money for the near pound of packaging! Now I called Kroger and they wanted to rectify the 1lb I didnt get, they knew no argument, because they weigh the package with the meat. Instead of just the meat. They didnt blink, funny huh? I said I didnt want just that pound, I had bought a lot of meat there, that I would let all consumers know. They are being ripped off. They never weigh your package in the deli when you get fresh cut meat and cheeses, so why the meat department. They are making a mint, just on charging you for the packaging. Now I understand that the packaging costs, so weigh it and add a few cents more, they do buy in bulk. Im paying that much for something I am throwing away?
