OK Im going to suggest something here that might or might not be a useful / popular idea, that said we wont know unless we try will we ;-) Following on from a thread on the Hampshire Cachers FB group a fellow cacher lost a wedding ring whilst out and about and despite a valiant effort it has still not been located. I would liked to have assisted as Ive been an avid detectorist for 34 years and Ive assisted with locating many a lost item. On this occasion it was just too far for me to travel but seeing the fantastic support offered by fellow cachers I thought I would put forward the idea of having a thread where people could offer on a voluntary basis something they can do or can offer to help with? Whilst not Geocaching directly the general ethos of our hobby is one of mutual cooperation and friendship and I for one like to offer assistance where possible regardless of who or where. I feel its important that this be offered as voluntary with no monetary reward being expected nor requested so it does not become a Yellow Pages Index!!!! I will start the ball rolling with my Quirky pastimes other than Geocaching and making cache containers:- 1. Ive been an avid detectorist for many years and would be happy to assist with small metallic item recovery in suitable environments. 2. I am an accomplished RC helicopter flier with high quality aerial photographic equipment mounted on a hexacopter. If this thread is not welcome I will of course delete it :-) Over to you guys & gals ?????
