OK. Im gonna type this all out so people get why Im suicidal right now. This is from the child custody report that was released on Friday. There was an observation that took place on August 22,2013 that the child custody study coordinator recorded like this: At both Heidi and Brians home, the children are placed with a single parent. There are currently no significant others, or other family members living in either home. Brian has always been, and remains in the role of primary parent to the two minor children, while both parents were employed fulltime, Heidi worked and lived During child observations, it was clear that Mathias is hyper vigilant about where Brian is and when he will be coming back. This correlates with Brians report that Mathias is cautious around new situations and worried about who will watch him if Brian is not around. Mathias was very comfortable when Brian was present, and able to engage in age-appropriate interests and interactions. When Mathias asked to use the restroom, dad appropriately escorted both kids to the bathroom. Danielle was engaged, interactive, and comfortable during her observed time with dad. She engaged in imaginary play with dad and the dolls present in the playroom. Brian also appeared comfortable and was able to play with and attend to the needs of both children at the same time. At the time the observation switched to having Heidi in the playroom, Brian left to allow Heidi her time. Mathias was noticeably troubled when Brian left, and repeatedly asked Heidi wheres Dad? Where did Dad go? When will he be coming back? During the play time with Heidi, Mathias continually was looking for dad. As Heidi entered the playroom, she immediately began looking for a clock because she had to get to work. When she observed a bandage on Danielle she immediately remarked I should have a doctor look at that. Throughout the observation, Heidi appeared uncomfortable and distracted. She did not move at all throughout the observation, and seemingly ignored Mathias. Instead of engaging in any type of play/interaction with Mathias, Heidi questioned him about the dosage of a medication he was taking. At one point, Heidi saw a Heidi book on the shelf, and excitedly encouraged Mathias to read the Heidi book which Mathias declined to do. Mathias repeatedly left the room by himself to allegedly use the bathroom, which Heidi did not question. There were no further observable interactions at all between Heidi or either child until this writer suggested it was time to clean up at which time Mathias started to clean up, and encouraged Danielle to do the same by singing the clean up song. Heidi appeared unable or unwilling to parent, or direct Danielle in any way. Instead Heidi picked Danielle up and onto her lap, while praising Danielle for having played at the table while Mathias continued to pick up on his own. Heidi showed no attempt to get Danielle to do as requested, and appeared to have no expectations at all for Danielles behavior. During this time, Heidi took a toy phone away from Danielle and Danielle began hitting Heidi while throwing things and screaming, I want my phone back. Heidi rewarded Danielles negative behavior by giving her the phone back. The children then walked out of the playroom with Heidi following behind. Brian appropriately attempted to get the children to return to the playroom to finish cleaning up. Danielle began sobbing that she didnt want to clean up. Heidi comforted Danielle, while Brian and Mathias finished cleaning up. Danielle had taken her shoes off, and when it was time to leave, Heidi attempted to put Danielles shoes on while Danielle physically resisted her efforts and began sobbing. Heidi gave up on putting Danielles shoes on and proceeded to just leave the FCS office. This writer asked Mathias if he wanted to say goodbye to his mom, to which Mathias replied no. The child observations seemed to support Brians report that whenever Heidi was around Heidi split the family into separate dyads, Heidi with Danielle, Brian with Mathias. Brian reported that Heidi never ate dinner at the table with her family, but would come downstairs while they were eating supper and get ice cream out of the freezer, then go upstairs and lock herself in the bedroom. Mathias described shared activities with Brian in specific terms, such as the television programs they watch together, and the names of the board and video games they play together, and other activities such as playing catch. He reported he enjoys it when his dad makes apple pies or applesauce. He described less shared / more individual types of activities when with mom, such as playing games on her laptop, or watching television / movies (such as Shrek). Mathias reported his mom doesnt really cook other than Mac and cheese so they also spend time together going out to eat. See you all in the next life.
