OK...Im seeing a bit of a red flag going up for parts of the Metroplex for tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon. Although the dryline is expected to sweep through the DFW area tomorrow afternoon setting the stage for severe storms just east of the Metroplex (east of a line from Bonham to Rockwall to Hillsboro), there is something in the data that suggests the dryline may BACK UP before the sun goes down tomorrow! There appears to be an upper-level disturbance that will approach from the NW by late in the day which would cause rapid pressure falls west of the Metroplex. Why is this important? Because the dryline will respond to rapid pressure falls - which act like a magnet - causing the dryline to stall and then totally reverse direction, meaning it could come BACKWARDS into the Metroplex during the warmest part of the day. If this were indeed to happen, the dryline would ignite powerful storms a little farther west than the line I indicated above and affect at least the east half of the Metroplex. Stay tuned .. I want to make sure this is not just a glitch in the math!
