OK, It might be time to officially take away my cooking license. Just tried to fry chicken breasts about the size of a basketball. In order to try to cook them all the way through - I put the iron skillet on top to keep in the heat. The breasts were so big the skillet pressed into them. Before long they were stuck and getting very very brown. I took the potatoes off the burner in front so I could work with the chicken. Somehow a paring knife with a plastic handle got on the burner where the potatoes were so when I went back to the kitchen from checking FB, I discovered toxic fumes going up into the air from the melting knife. Got it out into the garage ASAP. House is full of smoke but the chicken is not done on the inside. Put them in the oven. From now on I use the crock pot. Sheesh!!!
