OK, I’m getting a little tired of people admonishing ALL organized religion for past indiscretions of SOME organized religion…particularly from Democrats. First, they lump ALL organized religions/denomoniations into one group (sound familiar?) and label them all the same as dangerous and self-serving. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion (despite the historical inaccuracies), especially if they have a personal beef with one or two religions. Or, they are atheists and are just all-around haters. But, it’s the hypocrisy I can’t stand. Historically, Democrats have been heavily racist (pro-slavery and founders of the KKK, pro-school segregationists, etc. to name just a few), and anti-gay (passers of DOMA, DADT legislation, etc.). Yet, today, these same lefties choose to be part of the Democratic party despite its historically awful lack of morality and humanity. How is that any different than not wanting to be part of organized religion today because you had a problem with some organized religions’ past? They say that the democratic party has evolved and so now it’s OK to be a part of it…but they won’t say the same for any or all organized religion? That’s what’s eating me. The hypocrisy of it all.
