OK Jan Petri - you challenged me and I have been putting it off, so here goes: today I am grateful for the papaya tree in bloom on my running path that smells like fruit loops; my sense of smell and ability to breathe the sweet papaya flower scent into my clean lungs; the mockingbird singing its song to the sky from the street pole right now, my awareness of it and my ability to hear it; my ability to afford my own health insurance and just have my annual checkup; and for the frog songs after the rain (and ditto on my awareness of of and my ability to hear it).
