OK.. ONE WEEK till retest.. for the sake of testing they did not have us back board in this scenario,verbalize procedure as would be done. Trauma patient.. face down..unresponsive (if not scenario given a test,easy fix) BSI! Scene Safe? How many patients? Call for ALS ! Patient breathing? Have partner hold C-Spine (neutral and inline position) Palpate head,neck checking cloves for blood. Cut clothes down back Palpate spine (piano fingers,down to tail bone/coccyx Check pulse (wrists/pedal) skin color.conditon...pink/warm/dry? measure neck for collar using four finger from collar bone to jaw line Place color on patient Partner two helps log roll patient on partner ones (at head) 3 count (would be on to back board) check airway Place patient on high flow o2 (15 liters) via non re breather re check collar and adjust to proper/tight fit looking for jvd and trachea devation strap torso,feet,chest, place blocks outside of partners hands (still holding c-spine),partner places hands outside of blocks after properly in place.. Strap head top strap.second strap Load patient and go...rapid transport to closest trauma center in back of rig begin primary assessment check face ears for blood/fluid eyes (pearrl) palpate clavicles left arm (once done ask partner to get base line vitals) d ecapbtls,pulse right are Chest/sternum all four quadrants of abdomen hips,down/up each leg rechecking pedal pulse re asses every 5 minutes noting any improvements in condition or of condition worsens /vitals If witness/family member was available they would have come with,attempt to obtain patients past history,meds.allergies, etc.. Arrive at center ,relay all info to accepting staff member.
