OK Ottawa folkies, what do you think of this? Monahans BluesFest had MANY noise complaints too, from both neighbours and attenders. I stopped going to BluesFest myself, for two reasons: 1) the sardine-like feeling of too many people squished together; 2) the DEAFENING VOLUME! MY THEORY: Monahan hires the same kind of rock-oriented audio technicians for both of his festivals... who all lost their ears long ago (and dont even know it) from doing too many louder-than-loud shows. And now they are ruining the Folk Festival, where volume needs to be done more carefully, such that the audience can clearly hear the lyrics and instruments... not be overwhelmed by sheer volume...not that Monahan cares about losing a listening audience.
