OK, This really gets my goat.... So I get a Rapid pay card from work. I only put $ 50.00 on it a pay and I use it as a gas card for the two weeks. Well with the gas prices down I had $32.14 left on my card so I took my husband and Granddaughter out to breakfast the bill came to $29.44 (we left the tip on the table). The cashier rang me out and my card was declined. I had just checked the balance before I went to the restraunt so I told the girl I knew I had the money in the account. She said their machine wasnt working right earlier so she tried it again and it came back insufficient funds. My husband paid the bill. When we got home I went on the internet to check the account and it said I only had $30.64. I looked at the history and they charged me .50 for each time the restaurant ran the card. It said the restraunts name then it said (Reg = 29.44 Adj = 35.33)(10 day hold) insufficient funds for 35.33. It was on there 3 times and I was charged $1.50. So I called Rapidrf and talked to a Customer Service Rep. He told me it was in their policy that for anything that a gratuity can be paid at like restraunts, hotels or anything like that. That they will automatically take a 20% gratuity out of your account and hold it for 10 days. I said that was a stupid policy and since I was unaware of their policy I want a dollar of the $1.50 back and I would not be using that card anymore at restraunts. He told me no he couldnt give me the dollar back. So the yelling on my end begain because he thought to try and hold his ground when I asked for a supervisor. Finally he gave up and put me on hold for quite awhile and then came back on and said I could have my dollar back but I would have to wait ten days to see it in my account. 10 days or not I won. I just wanted to let everyone know that has these bank cards through your work places to make sure you are aware that they take out 20% gratuities and hold it for ten days. Some people only have these Rapid pay cards and cant afford to have money held up like that. Be aware and careful were you use them
