OK~~~WEVE HAD IT & need your help! This Hell Hole is the Okemah City Shelter......Its a terrible place as we have reported before..... We have begged & pleaded with the ACO (And City) to provide some sort of warmth during the cold winter months.....We (Once) got to put a few blankets in for some puppies, but that was after days of excuses of why we cant!! We were told that if we did it, we wont get them back!! Really? WE DIDNT WANT THEM BACK!!! Those 2 puppies ended up with PALS in Tulsa & developed Parvo, 1 day after their arrival.....This group spent hundreds & hundreds & more hundreds of dollars trying to save them!! A little clorox water would have taken care of that threat!!! They probably had pneumonia too, if truth be known.... This Shelter has NO heat, NO bedding, NO way off of the cold, concrete floor, NO houses, NO Straw, NO elevated platforms, NOTHING....To make matters worse, the ACO comes in, sprays the floors with water to clean, does not remove the dogs there, sprays them too (Sopping Wet) & then they lay there and FREEZE!!!! As you can tell by the photos, there are NO Windows for warmth of sunshine as a heat source, either!!! When the temps drop below freezing, there is literally ICE on the floors & the dogs have no where to go....Water bowls are frozen, too!!! This isnt right!! Dogs that end up at a pound or shelter have already suffered enough! They shouldnt have to freeze to death, too!!! This is unacceptable and weve had it!!!! This is the citizens of Okemahs hard earned tax dollars at work and they have a voice!!!! We ALL have a voice and we want it heard!!! Please, take the time to call OKEMAH City Hall at 918-623-4020 & voice your concerns.....Lets let them hear from all over this country...... On a side note: As of yesterday, there is a little Schnauzer in Okemahs pound...Im sure He/she would give anything for a home for the holidays....You can visit their page Okemah City Shelter on FB.....DO NOT bash this Shelter page...They are like us; only run by a couple of volunteers trying to show the dogs at the pound, before they are euthanized....They are not affiliated in any way with the City, nor does the city read their page, so that wont help!!!....Its Only a couple of women trying hard to make a difference.......
