OK. We have these wind chimes on our deck. We have not taken them down for the winter--YET. They have been tuned to a piano, and last night they played several concertos. No sleep. I wouldnt let my engineer go out on the deck to remove them because I was alarmed he might get blown away and be lost in the woods forever. After all, the wind was tricky last night, and I didnt like the way it was howling, egging those wind chimes on and on. I told him this morning that the neighbors heard our chimes all night long and they couldnt sleep either. I went on to say, Its all because they were tuned to a piano--it was so melodious that the sound traveled all up and down the street. He just looked at me, smiled, and said, You really are blonde, arent you? That color is not really out of a bottle? I gave him the high eyebrow look. And he continued, Dont you think that it may be because of the speed of sound instead of the tuning to a piano? --show me your data, Blondie. He asked for it, so I just gave him my blondest look. He got up from his chair, left the room and came back with his physics book to explain the speed of sound. Oh, no, I thought. Its my fault. The lesson started because of the chimes I just had to discuss, front and center, this morning. (They were still ringing.) He was mid- sentence when I got up. Where are you going? he questioned. I returned, not with a book, but a step stool. Go--go take the melodious sounding chimes down. To which he replied, Dont go away and dont hide that book. The lesson isnt over. Im going to use the chimes as a prop when I get back. He doesnt realize Im long gone -- back to the room with the orange comforter/bedspread he hasnt noticed yet.....Day 4........
