OK a quick run down on Day 2 at the Mel Cup in Samoa. After a stellar day yesterday there were some high and lows today. The 1st mens semi final saw Norman Kalotiti win his heat and go through to the final. Unforts Feansa came in 3rd and has been bundled out. The 2nd Mens semi saw John S and Slim come in 4th and 3rd respectively in a tight heat so both knocked out at the semi final stage. This leaves only Norman K alive in the Open Mens final, but heat scores show that he has a real chance in winning it. The Open Mens final is in the water now, so updates on that soon! However it isnt all doom and gloom...... In the Under 14s Roger Taleo won his Round 1 heat convincingly and is through to the semis. This was followed up with Junior Kalmet blazing his first round heat and winning against his much fancied rival from NC Tom Morat, with the highest heat score of the event so far. In the other good news in the over 35s Slim won his semi final heat with Ben J coming 2nd in his semi (on a borrowed board) so he is through to the Over 35 final as well. Other great news is that Reshma won her womens round 1 heat and Sera came third in her (5 man) heat so both are through to the semi finals - a big leap up from the girls last years performance.! OK more news to hand in the next half hour and hopefully photos later today!
