OK face book friends, I have let a car stump me for the first time in a long time and would appreciate and accept some hints in this situation. My mother in law has a 1998 Ford Escort and was driving down the road and it started stalling out. The more gas you gave it the more it stalled. I put plugs, fuel filter, and fuel pump on with same symptoms afterward. Put a new throttle positioning sensor on and sprayed throttle body cleaner on throttle body and it has not cranked since. Got plenty of fire but not even trying to crank. At my wits end on this one. Never got this far in with such negative responses from a motor before. Any suggestions? Maybe someone out there has hit on the same or similar problem with a 2.0 Ford engine in the past.
