OK folks, time for a service announcement. I have driven Ford trucks for close to 30 years and are my favorite vehicle. UNTIL recently. Last year, the number five spark plug BLEW OUT OF THE VALVE COVER! This is something that should NEVER happen and if it does, it should be very rare that it does! I had it repaired by a mechanic and it was doing fine until yesterday, when NUMBER FIVE BLEW OUT AGAIN! Come to find out after some research that this is NOT a rare problem and that it happens so often that there are REPAIR kits made for it! Which is what was used the first time. I went to the Ford customer site on the internet and they replied that Sorry, we do not have any current recalls on this problem, so we cant help you..in other words , F&^K you. I found out that there has been a class action settled over this same problem. I called FM Ford and they told me to bring it to them to look at that they may be able to help me. After getting there, they said that the threads were to messed up and only replacing the head would fix it. We are talking about replacing a SPARK PLUG costing over 2000 dollars! YES, two thousand dollars! I told them that this is rediculous and that FORD needs to deal with this issue! A problem that they KNOW exist but still ignore. Not mad at FM Ford as they were nice about and I did not buy the truck there, but they understood my being EXTREMELY PISSED OFF! I told them that I was going to let everyone know that they should avoid buying any Ford product with the aluminum heads as they will susceptible to this problem and will be solely responsible if it happens after the warranty expires. I will no longer buy any Ford product after being treated like this. A multi billion dollar company dumping this kind of a flaw in the design onto the customer is unreal!! I can not afford to have this fixed, so I have a truck with monthly payments being a brick in my yard! So my friends, think long and hard before every buying a Ford product again! I will not..sadly as I have always been a Ford man..
