OK, foregoing mincing words out of frustration: sometimes people are just thick-headed morons. They distrust legitimate science and rather believe cherry-picked conspiracy theory ravings readily. And of course, this causes the return of nearly-eradicated diseases due to a stupid aversion to well-supported and highly successful immunization programs.
