OK guys, I will try and make this as concise as I can: we started a Python School a few months ago with some OJTs from a top-university in Cebu and due to the enormous success we had, we met with the university and are going to continue the program, teaching more students (and faculty) Python and Django. The original program was 250 hours (as it was their OJT) but the reality is were working on condensing it as 250 hours is a big chunk of time. In an effort for full transparency we use the program to evaluate potential...and of our initial batch of OJTs we hired nearly 50% of them (so it was a massive success for us, and they got jobs they enjoy and are continuing to improve their skillset.) The university understands what were doing, and encourages it. The reason for this post is I am wondering if anyone in CEBU has an interest in helping us teach these students? We are now served with the task of trying to teach nearly 200 people (not all at the same time) which is considerably more than the original OJT program we ran...its an ambitious project, but one we believe in. I am sure there are people in here who might be interested in creating more understanding of Python in the Philippines and I am quite confident we have designed a program that will work. But we could use some additional help. Depending on the level of support you can give, we can pay you. If youre in other parts of the Philippines and willing to relocate, lets chat: we have housing available and can pay relocation expenses. I am really interested in hearing from anyone...do not be shy! If youre a Python guru, great...if not, you can still help in more ways than you probably realize. I want everyone to understand that the university we are working with is a top-level school and very interested in spreading this program (if its successful) to other affiliate universities in other parts of the country.
