OK here I go again. I am about fed up to my ears with this Zimmerman crap, now we have the President (not my President mind you) but, The President of the United States throwing his two cents in. The only reason race issues will never go away is because people refuse to shut the hell up about it. If a white man kills a white man, he’s a murderer. If a black man kills a black man, he’s a murderer. However if a white man kills a black man or a black man kills a white man, he’s a racist. What the hell is the difference? We as American’s need to put ourselves on the “same page” are we American’s or not? I for one am sick and tired of listening to people set themselves apart from one another. If you are a black man, you are a black man…….. If you are Indian you are Indian, fairly simple right……. Nope. We are supposed to be a Nation under God, American’s period. Why must we categorize ourselves? Think about it, we have Indian-American’s, African-American’s, Chinese-American’s, French-American’s, and on and on and on. My great, great grandparents came from Germany, so I guess I am a German-American……. No I’m not, I am an AMERICAN PERIOD. My family has more different ethnic backgrounds than Heinz 57 has ingredients; we are however, simply a family. I am looking through pictures with a friend and come across a family reunion photo; we look at my Uncle giving this silly look while he does his magic on the BBQ Grill, do I say that is my Black-African-American Uncle? No, I simply say that’s my Uncle. What is so hard about simply being who we are, American’s ! One of the best friends I ever had watch my back (God rest his soul) was a full blooded, taco cooking, enchilada baking Mexican, was he a Mexican-American? No, he was born in Texas, USA …… he was a God fearing, proud American just like me !! So Mr. President, why don’t you simply stand up there on your pedestal and call us what we are, AMERICAN’S DAMNIT! A couple nights ago while at our downtown shop the Law Enforcement had to be called on a small group of guys in the alley, they were Mexican’s, I believe a couple of them may have been arrested. Does it mean I am racist because I didn’t want them around my property? No, it means I was not happy with them breaking beer bottles on the building next to me, it means I didn’t appreciate them throwing their empty beer cans along my building for me to clean up, it means I didn’t think it was right for them to be pissing on the neighbors trailer, it means I didn’t think they should be trying to gain access to the neighbor’s property. It had nothing to do with them being Mexican; it had everything to do with them being disrespectful, law-breaking, disgusting individuals. Being white, brown, black, yellow or flipping blue doesn’t have a damn thing to do with it. I guess I have rambled again…… so not like me………. The bottom line is this, Mr. President if you really want to end racial issues, then stop bringing it up. If you want ONE AMERICA then start living it and stop categorizing people! But don’t worry Mr. President, I won’t hold my breath waiting for that one,…… you have to play the race card Sir, after all that’s what got your dumb ass elected.
