OK ... here it goes my fellow Cherokee brother and sisters, I was on a journey to learn more about my heritage and I joined a group to learn it was a good group, but then I met someone who told me he would help me and I started studying under him and taking this serious because I have since I was a little girl, with the ones gone now that taught me some, I needed someone with great knowledge. Well I met an Elder/ Chief who took me under and adopted me into his family or tribe. I started learning. Things are happening in his life and he says he is tired and retired from everything, so now I am basically back at square one. He gave me my name and I love it ,but the naming ceremony was to finalize it, I guess that is no more. I know people have lives and issues, but please never take someone under your wing if you DO NOT intend to keep helping them. I will miss his teachings and talks but none the less it still hurts that persons spirit and pride and effects how they will trust others.
