OK heres a question! When Im playing out, I want those of you watching to have the best experience possible and after playing with a load of other DJs over the years Ive realised that there is a huge variation in how people approach their sets. These days I play a range of tunes but you can kind of categorise them as follows. Classic Artful Dodger Tracks and Mixes Old Skool Garage New UKG/Deep House New Artful Tunes and Remixes I tend to weight the set to the tracks that seem to get the crowd hyped up. and I also drop a few surprises at the end :) as some of you well know. So my question is, do you favour the fast chop and change approach from DJs, just playing less than a minute of the tune and chopping in to something else, or do you prefer to hear a decent chunk of the tunes? or maybe a blend of the two? Would LOVE to hear your comments, I think its important to play to the crowd when i DJ and you represent a good cross section of people that come and see the gigs.
