OK, heres my deal with climate change. Im sure Im not alone, but there arent any really visible voices on my side of this, and thats very frustrating. So, here goes... I dont have a side. I dont take sides with science. I dont cherry-pick evidence to substantiate my desire for something to be true (or not true). The chips fall where they will. Im not part of that equation. Im sorry, but I find people who do cherry-pick to be boring chickenshits. Heres what Im tired of dealing with... Im tired of being called a denier because I think it matters that virtually every advanced prediction model scientists have devised got the last 15 years or so wrong. Pointing out this incredibly relevant fact does not make me a big oil shill. It doesnt make me a Republican who wants to kill women and children with poison air and rising sea water. What it makes me is someone who cares more about facts than agendas. Your predictions were more or less all wrong. Man up (and woman up) and go back to your drawing boards and figure out why you got it so wrong. Then, come back and present your case based on new findings. Im one of those people you can convince. But you wont do it by screaming DENIER! every time I mention a fact that might trample on your beloved theory. Youll only do it with a calm, reasoned, evidence-based presentation. And youll do it when your predictions match reality. If your theory predicts something and it doesnt happen, dont expect me to ignore it. Dont think that youll bully me with name-calling into going along with the consensus. Science does not and should not work that way. Only agendas work that way.
