OK, here’s a question for you. Do nannies have to right to go - TopicsExpress

OK, here’s a question for you. Do nannies have to right to go back to a family after they’ve been hired and change the terms of the contract or work environment? I’m seeing a lot of questions from nannies on different facebook pages around things like “the mom said she didn’t want me to leave the house with the kids but it’s driving me crazy”, “I agreed to be paid for gas for driving the kids but now don’t think it’s enough”, or “I’m supposed to get off at 6:30 but I want to take a class one night a week that starts at 6:00”. My thought is that if you agreed to it, in most cases you should stick to it. Even when it was a bad decision. When you review your contract at the year mark, that’s the time to renegotiate. I know I hold an unpopular opinion here but for a minute, put the shoe on the other foot. How would you react if an employer changed the rules of the game after hire? Do you think nannies have that right?
