OK, how about a little bit of truth about the Keystone XL - TopicsExpress

OK, how about a little bit of truth about the Keystone XL Pipeline? I see where 65% of the Americans that they asked approve of it. Corporations seldom (if ever) tell the truth. They rely on the relative stupidity of so many Americans and the GREED of Federal, State and Local politicians. So how about some facts? First. This project will not create a single solitary job in 43 of our 50 states, not one. Second. At best, there will be about 600 temporary jobs (temporary as in working sometimes and off most of the time) for about two years and less than 40 full time, regular jobs. Third. They are using Chinese pipe. Remember how reliable Chinese products are? Well, their toothpaste poisoned hundreds of people, killing many. Their pet food killed thousands of pets. It is not unusual at all for Chinese products to be recalled. They use virtually slave labor and these Tar Sands are rough and abrasive and the possibility of them eating holes in the cheap Chinese pipe is real. Fourth. The United States will not be using any of the oil refined from these Tar Sands, only the waste materials which we must find a way to dispose of. Fifth. There was a Tar Sands spill outside of Kalamazoo, MI over three years ago and the efforts to clean it up cant even be ascertained. It still looks like it did after the spill. You cant clean this crap up. It is far worse than what was spilled by BP into the Gulf of Mexico but with a whole lot less water to dilute it. Sixth. The world market uses about 92 to 95 billion barrels of oil per day. This dangerous, high-pressure pipeline will max out at about 830,000 barrels per day or less than .08% of what is being used on the market today. Seventh. The Ogalala Aquifer is not a river. It is more like a huge sponge that feeds water to the entire Great Plains area and effects irrigation as far West as Hoover Dam. Contaminating this natural wonder will increase the cost of drinking water, decrease the corn, wheat and other grains crops by over 75% making your bread about $22.00 per loaf. If you are at all concerned about Monsanto and the GMOs introduced into your food, a spill of Tar Sands into this Aquifer will be four to five times as damaging. Eighth. Do some research into the Tar Sands spills in Arkansas and in Canada. Most of the Provinces in Canada have REFUSED to allow these horribly destructive products to be transported through their territory, but they are smarter and less greedy than the average American. This junk is too heavy to transport and the only relatively safe use for it would require refining it at the site where it is mined. Check it all out folks. You are being taken for a ride that you will never come back from.
