OK, must comment on this. So Russia is going to ban sales of rocket engines to us, and we use a lot of those right now. They mocked us for prematurely shutting down the space shuttle program, saying we should consider getting to the ISS by way of trampoline. Hmm.. ok so using Russia helped their economy. What do you think the USA is going to do now? Were just going to stop pinching those pennies, helping the Russian economy in the process, and instead proceed in a quicker fashion toward having the heavy lifter rocket and the manned (Saturn-style) rocket thatre in the works. These of course are being built not just to get us to the space station, but back to the moon, and ON TO MARS. It is really telling about Russias economy that it must be so bad that the only way to act politically is to put a rock in our shoe. That small rock is going to return us to dominance in space, stripping Russia of ANY prestige it has now. Which will make its citizens feel worse about themselves (more vodka consumption, less [free] state pride). Net: USA #1, no need for Russia; Russia - Left out to dry. Japan learned this in the 40s. Russia last learned it in 1990. It was confirmed for all the world to see in 2008 that the economies of the other (modern) countries of the world have HEALTH OF US ECONOMY as an input to their economic function. The US has HEALTH OF ALL OTHER COUNTRIES IN THE WORLD as an input to its economic function, though its rather limited and normally called trade deficit, which many people hate anyway. This is really pretty objective, and not patriotic in nature.
