OK...new rule...or maybe its an old rule that was swept under the carpet in favour of, well, favours: From here on in, no mine, logging, hydro-electric, linear transport line, or any other resource-related facility in this province will be issued an EA or Operating permit (for any stage of development) WITHOUT the following: I suggest that ALL existing and proposed projects must ante up their plans and assigned budgets for A) preventative measures, B) Rapid Response systems and crews/process in the case of such carnage as we are now learning about; and C) complete restoration of the site and all it has affected during its lifetime, including access roads, diverted waterways, ecosystemic changes, loss of wildlife and cultural resources. I wanna see this BEFORE anybody sticks a stake in the ground.
