OK, often I get pulled back when the CANDLES movie is showing. I find hilarious things, and also film posters from other countries. But this is too adorable. Is that writing Cyrillic? (I should ask my husband, I guess.) This guy is doing all the voices himself!! Oh my god, thats funny. Washington Post said, Nova Scotia does a beautiful job of pretending to be Maine.... HA HA. No matter how hard I tried, the woods and rivers and lakes of Northern Maine lost out again to the mighty ocean. I get tons of emails with questions about this little movie. For instance, why change the name of the local tavern? Cee Jays Tavern was Bee Jays in Fort Kent, in my novel. Why did they change it to Cee Jays for the movie? Well, think about it since I had to. When you write Bee Jays in a novel, you see the words. But when you SAY THEM in a film, it all changes. Oy vey. Im loving this guy doing the translations all by himself! I see by posts that the movie will air again tonight at 11 PM. By the way, Dee Dee is my niece Dianas nickname, so thats what I named this character. The Post also said the film was based on real characters. Seriously? Whered they get that? Maybe because I used a lot of real names of folks in northern Maine for minor characters, and with their permission. This clip is killing me. I may have to watch it again. I wonder who this guy is. Remember when you hear something REALLY stupid, its probably not in the book so I didnt write it! But I was proud that they kept almost everything I wrote about the colt being born. I spent a lot of time talking to an equestrian vet, thanks to the real Dee Dee, my niece, who is also a vet. She owns her own clinic north of Nashville, Tennessee. (Tom listened via phone so couldnt hear well....he said it sounds Polish, or Ukranian or Russian. But hes also watching a FOOTBALL game so I dont think he listened CLOSELY.
