OK one more time. Some TREK History for you. I did NOT work on Trek although I did lend a hand on rare occasion. The art dept folks were a lot of fun to drop in on. A wee bit of production history (dont bother to argue about where TOS and MI were filmed, that one came from Mike Okuda and the head of the lot, Mike Ivey): The Paramount Lot as I remember it (I may update this if something comes to mind): BOP: Where the bridge set for the Bird of Prey normally sat on a Dolly. *1: The old TOS offices *2: First floor the Marathon Mill were the TREK sets were made *3: The men’s room where I normally ran into Mike Dorn *4: Upstairs above stage 8 and 9, some of the TREK offices including the Voyager Art Dept (Rick Sternbach) and the Voyager crew used to come downstairs to go to work. *5: Upstairs above the Marathon Mill: The DS-9 Art Dept, including Mike Okuda’s office (with the Minnow Life preserver on his door), Denise Okuda (with the Buckaroo Banzai fan club poster on the wall behind her desk, Doug Drexler, etc etc. An Eclectic group of people and the best in the business. *6: Junie Lowry’s office (Casting Director for a lot of TREK) *7: Mike Ivey’s office (Head of the back lot). Mike started in the Marathon Mill. *8: KCAL-TV, with a back door onto the lot. We did go to lunch at Paramount fairly often when I visited KCAL. *9: The Commissary, a lot of good stories come out of there. *10: Roddenberry building, right next to San Francisco bay for ST 4: TVH. Blue area next to it with the blue wall behind it for composite shots) *11: The Fleischer building (film storage) *12: not worth mentioning. 4: Stage 4, Misc. DS-9 sets, including an Air lock and Engineering (IIRC) 8: Stage 8, Voyager Bridge set, also used for TNG and Enterprise. One of the 2 finest TREK sets I’ve seen. 9: Stage 9 Misc. Voyager sets, TNG and Enterprise 11: Stage 11: Used as Borg Central (make up and prosthetic devices) for First Contract and for the 1701 sets for Trials and Tribs. For FC, there was an 18 wheeler parked filled with “Borg stuff”. 12: Stage 12, Used for the Deflector Dish was for First contact. 14: Stage 14 where the Engine room was for First contact. 3 story set. Both Star Fleet and “Borgized” 15: Not really sure where was there and when… but it was used for the films. I can’t remember where the Phoenix was on the same stage with the “Jefferies” tubes. *16: Stage 16, the Hell planet stage for Voyager and where the Excelsior bridge set was built for flashback. 17: Stage 17, The DS-9 Promenade. 3 story set. 18: Stage 18, The DS-9 hell planet stage with the Defiant set. 29: Stage 29, used for TOS filming 30: Stage 30, “ “ “ “ 31 Stage 31, used for Mission impossible and where the bridge/ready room for the “E” was originally built for First contact, I heard it was moved later. 32: Stage 32, MI
