OK, so I am going to do my rare once-in-a-while serious post. And vent. You are warned. The whole terrible story about the two 12 year old girls stabbing their friend. This is one of those stories that horrify you, anger you and really break you heart, And there are LOTS of opinions, rants, stories and comments around. May I take a moment and just ask, PLEASE stop attacking the parents? (And, on that note, I feel if you are not a parent you should just be quiet anyway. Sorry, you have no leg to stand on. Biggest pet peeve is someone with no kids, voicing how parenting should be done. Nope. You have no clue. Shut it, please). Parenting, while the best and most rewarding job in the world, is also the hardest. There are no experts. They come with no manual. Things go wrong constantly. Sure, there are good parents and bad parents but no perfect parents. And who is anyone to set that criteria and point fingers anyway? Some of the best kids come from so-called broken homes, and some not-so-best kids from from so-called wonderful homes. You can try, but you can monitor your kids 24/7, 365 days a year. You do what you feel is best in your head and your heart (and sometimes your gut) and go from there. Hell, I feel overwhelmed and lost daily at times, but also know I am trying my hardest to do what I think is right. And its not always right. Alot of times its wrong. So there you go. Parenting in a nutshell. You do what you can do, and hope for the best. I am very proud of my Sadye, but at times i think what the hell. I may not always like her, but I always love her. But we go on. And thats what you do...you go on. Maybe instead of being so quick to tear each other part and point fingers and throw blame and judgement, wouldnt it be nice to support each other, lean on each other and help each other thru this crap? Just once. Ok, I am done. Back to my usual scheduled awkwardness....;)
