OK, so I know Ive missed a lot of texts and calls - Im too exhausted. Just wanted to do a quick update and nap, then ill start returning calls! Therapy was sad. My therapist specializes in mastectomies, but was shocked to see that I still had 3 open wounds. Usually theyre healed when they get in. But my body is doing such a poor job at healing and Ive lost so much muscle mass and mobility, I had to get started now. Quite a challenge for her because of the wounds. So we worked on some range of motion from laying position, and it went okay. Until she burst into tears. Shocked me. It was almost the sobbing kind of crying. She apologized profusely for how Unprofessional she was, said that shes never lost it like that before, that shes dealt with tons of radical mastectomys, amputees, you name it, but apparently I used the word pathetic in regards to the stage of rehab Im at, and it really got to her. She said youve been through so much, and youre so far from pathetic, youre so strong and brave. Which got me crying, so there we were, craying, wasting rehab time. :) Im so touched that there are people out there that could care enough about a total stranger to be touched to the degree she was. Restores my hope in humanity and so many other things. So PT will be a minimum of 3x/week, but for a VERY long time, as even in her words, I am NO WHERE NEAR getting back to a normal life at this point. Looks like I got a long road ahead of me still! On another note, big, HUGE, special THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU to Gin Briegel and her gorgeous daughters Maddie and Audrey, for making us the most yummy, full. hot dinner last night, just in time for us to scurry off to Cassies choir performance! it was a beautiful pot roast with carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, onions....it was out of sight!! plus salad, bread, AWESOME rice, gravy and an incredible mixed fruit shortcake, which was so good it took my breath away!!! It was so beautifully done too - she brought pink tulips for me and white for cassie and little bags of chocolates with pretty bows, a beautiful card - it was just sooooooo special! Sorry to say there are NO left overs. It was that good!! God bless you Gin!
