OK, so I rushed out to the grocery store a few minutes ago to get some things. But I was so not wanting to stay away too long in case I missed the Dragon Warriors Kickstarter hitting its goal. I had my phone, but it does not always behave the way I wish it would. While in the produce section, I was fooling with it when the grocery clerk asked if I needed anything. I must have looked like I needed help. So, being the person I am, I immediately told him that I was distracted, eager to see a movie I backed reach its goal. This produce guy perked up at the word movie...asked what kind...so a long story short...He might handle fruits and vegetables by day, but at night he is working on his own as an independent artist in computer graphics, animation, filmmaking...We started talking. He listened. We stood right next to the bananas and watched the trailer together...His first time and my zillionth...I explained as we waited for my phone to cooperate that it was a fantasy film...Sci-fi? I like Sci-fi.... No, fantasy...more like Princess Bride... Princess Bride? Oh...better...Wait! We are talking about THE Princess Bride...the best movie ever made, right? [I guess I am going to have to eventually watch this movie!] I nodded and then watched his face as he watched the trailer...He must have said,Wow! and muttered, I like that...oh, thats cool...a dozen times! Then he started asking all kinds of questions, like where did I hear about this, what is Kickstarter, have I met these people....That last question is fairly standard where I live. Whos your people? is important...the kind of character people believe you to have is also important...If you are decent folk, then good...So, I ran on about James Marsters, never hesitate to do that. We spoke about independent artists. He was unfamiliar with Kickstarter, so I tried to explain that. He was very appreciative to get all this information. He assured me more than once he would be checking this out. By this time he was looking for paper to write all this down. Finding a scrap of paper in my purse, he jotted down everything in order to find it online. I told him jump on this now. Today. He was starting to look distracted as he went to the backroom. I suspect he was planning to take a break...go online...I looked over the bananas and tossed a few in my basket feeling quite happy that I made this quick run to get stuff.
