OK, so I spent a tad bit of time working on the first of many more minis to come. I did not try to do too much and have a few things I need to fix prior to calling him done, but basically I saw what I expected to see. The mold lines were horribly difficult to carve off and the worst part are the seams in the legs. If memory serves the preview of these models showed these seams and concern was raised by the public. We were assured this would not be an issue and it was only due to putting together taking apart, wash, rinse, and repeat. As you can see, the seams are present. Regardless, once the paint got on him I was getting happier with how he looked. I will note that the detail lines are not cut deep enough to pick up the wash and hold it and this was only compounded by the primer, and this I lightly applied as I could tell it would be adding an obscuring layer to the detail. I have a few areas to touch up and of course the cool decals, but so far so good. I wish I had a nice sized drill for the arm cannons to add that little touch of realism, but I do not have and do not see that addition coming any time soon. Let me know what you all think. In case anyone is curious the total time I spent on this guy was about 30 to 45 minutes. I still need to base this guy, but just too lazy right now.
