OK so a lunch debate came up today about why I didnt personally endorse a Protein Shake Meal Replacement, Weight loss drink from a company (Multi Level Marketing) that a few of the people present had had some good results from? I asked for the tub and made the first point on cost. Everyone can associate and agree with that... Broken down our tubs of 1.5 kgs (30 serves) sell for $69.95 (except the raw cacao Powergen)... thats $2.33 a serve.. yes, I will repeat $2.33 a serve (huh! That pretty good, did I just hear you say :).. What other wholefood, chemical free, sugar free meal could you get for that! OK back on track... then I read thru the list of ingredients.. this took about 2 minutes - including words hard to pronounce, numbers, fructose, milk powder and dont you love this one - natural flavour. grrrr I spent a bit of time explaining a couple of them. Then I made my main point... this expensive tub (+$75 for 800g) of stuff is primarily and scarily for detox and weightloss...but other than a quick fix what is it teaching in terms of changing habits? What about getting the body used to real, low GI, blood sugar stabilizing, nutrient dense wholefoods without the addictive sugars? I am still shaking my head as I type.
