OK so my vent for the day, So the last week I have watched many people attacking those who rescue animals and turn them over to county. While of course county is a last resort, how dare people who attack others rescuing in their own way they can. Sometimes, county is the only resort because they cant take the animals home and rescues are full. I have deleted some personal friends who tore into those who have chose this option. Its not a easy decision and its something that breaks their hearts. I was on a page where Chris Lacey posted a plea for help from anyone because he found this beautiful boy and had no options but to turn him over to county if he couldnt get help. As I watched this man and his family plea for help I watched others attack him. This is a response a arrogant lady put on that status: Chris.. Sorry, I despise you as a human being.. Taking in a dog and saying you need him gone but doing absolutely nothing to see if you can find his owners.. I hope some day someone shows more compassion than you if you ever lose your own animals.. People have already specifically asked that you not call animal control because it is a death sentence and you go ahead and call anyway.. Excuses excuses.. How do you get to work with no tags on your vehicle or to the damn grocery store?! And someone offered to pick the dog up to have scanned! Sorry Im acting like a jerk.. But these posts make me sick.. Dont take in a dog if youre going to just figuratively put a bullet in their head.. *end of her 1 of many comments she made* WHO SAYS THAT TO PEOPLE? So funny enough she had four people who liked her comment. Funny enough the four people who did like didnt do a damn thing to help this dog. Then you have the people who stated they were going to go get the dog. GUESS WHAT !!!!! After she posted that, not one word and wouldnt respond nor answer to anyone when she asked if she was a rescue or was going to adopt him or her intentions. SO WHAT DID PEOPLE DO ..... They assumed the dog was safe and moved on to the next dog. SIGH !!!!! HE WASNT SAFE. No animal is safe UNTIL you see the update THE ANIMAL HAS LEFT THE BUILDING. Only then is the animal safe. Chris and I for days networked this dog didnt give up and thank to networking and sharing to Frank N Danielle Winborn-Young page we found a foster, Michael Webster and his family offered to open up his home to this boy. How amazing are they and how lucky is this dog to be getting out of county and moving on to find his forever home. Then Chasity Cross stepped up as a rescue to save this sweet boy. Today, Michael and Chasity got to go see him and he was adopted. Tomorrow, he will be going to Michaels house and the beginning of his new life begins. After the great news was announced and tears were shed. I decided to make a response to all the damn nasty haters who talked crap to Chris. This is a man who knew nothing about rescue, however took this dog in, went and found Lost dogs of Arizona and begged for help there and didnt give up and worked so hard with me to help network and save this boy. Countless hours of talking and checking on updates and messaging people. After it was announce he was safe this was my response to the haters on that thread: And to all those haters that Liked Connies post tearing him up for turning the dog into county. Guess what, We proved you wrong, dog WAS NOT chipped, No owner looked for him. But because Chris Lacey posted the dog here and sent him to county we had time to network him and find a rescue and a foster and its one less dog on the street. People look at county for a pet not the streets. Last I knew people dont say Hey Dear I was thinking about maybe getting a dog lets go drive the neighborhood and grab a stray to become our family. So next time think before you attack those who do rescue and turn them over to county. Because funny enough NOT ONE OF YOU HATERS WHO LIKED HER COMMENT stepped up to help this dog. *** Done with my rant *** So in closing, it takes a village to do rescue. If you cant foster, then volunteer. If you cant volunteer, then donate. Not sure what to donate? then message a rescue you support and ask them and they will tell you. If you cant donate, then network. Networking is what helped get this dog adopted. How much you help a animal is need is up to you. But do not attack those who do what they can. As my favorite saying goes .... Youre no special snowflake.
