OK the final Honorable Mention is for song that has numerous covers that are good, but the original is way better. This award goes to a band I have never heard of “Johnny Kidd and the Pirates” with their song, “Shakin all over”. I thought the Guess Who did the original, WRONG, they covered it. As did Led Zeppelen and The Who. Kind of some interesting history, this song was Number 1 in 1960,that is two years before the Beatles first number 1 (Love me Do) and four years before the British Invasion got going. Both Zeppelen and The Who were inspired by them and changed their configuration the match the Pirates – one lead singer, one guitar, one bass, one drum. They were the first band to use theatrics as they dressed like pirates and had sword fights on stage. Alice Cooper references them as one of his influencers. Plus I think every Quentin Tarrentino movie has this song in it. Cool stuff!!!!
