OK, this is long and its pretty depressing, but I urge you to read it, because the U.S.A. is eating its own tail and wasting untold lives and treasure. This is a bi-partisan scandal that history will rank among the most toxic and damaging of all time. Ferrchristssake, were still sending our infantry units into combat with reworked M-16s that still are unreliable pieces of rubbish. (Special Ops gets to go to Cabelas and buy rifles that are light-years ahead of the M-14 in functionality and reliability). The USAF cant wait to dump the most effective (and efficient to operate) ground attack airplane ever built (the A-10) and replace it with an airplane that has cost as much as both the Iraq and Afghan wars TO DEVELOP. The F-35 hasnt even lifted a wing in anger and its already the most expensive weapon system in history. Oh, one last thing. We need to stop sending people to fight unwinnable wars that sets back our interests.
